Editing the classic DX7 keyboard!
I don't think you know it but I'm really a nerd and a geek! The geek disease started very young when I watched "Big Daddy," my grandfather with all of his hi-fi stereo gear. He had everything! The illness grew worse when I got into model rocketry and RC airplanes!
It was only natural once I became a musician and studio owner to nerd and geek out on gear! As I tell my, wife, you can't have enough sounds when you're a composer, you never know what sound might spark an idea for a new song or for a current production.
With this in mind, I thought it would be good to introduce you to a hand full of classic synthesizers and keyboards that have spawn over the past sixty years.
These instruments shaped the sound of pop music in the late 60's and throughout the 70s and 80s.
Many of these instruments price tags started at $2,000 dollars and depending on the instrument could easily reach $250,000 and more! Thank God for software, I own every classic instrument ever made and it's awesome!
On this weeks show, I wanted to give you a sample of what these instruments were and what they sounded like, sit back PUT ON A PAIR OF HEADPHONES, and dig it!
